Wreck Diving on The Hardeep: It’s a thrill and fun!

When we dive we do so for fun, excitement and a thrill. Diving the Hardeep Wreck near the Samaesan Islands gives us all of that in just one dive!

No matter what day we dive there, this wreck provides a great experience from the start of the dive right through to our 3 minute safety stop at 5 metres at the end! Hang to the line like superman during our descent if there is current until the bottom and a whole new experience awaits as we dive along the fallen mast of the ship and into the cargo hold. Wait for an amazing sight as we penetrate the wreck for the first time of the dive.

Torches at the ready we await what’s within with anticipation as we swim along the inside of the wreck, light pouring in through the number of portholes above which would have once been the side of the ship!

After exploring the marine life within the first opening of the wreck we dive along the wreck to where the Cabin once laid, now collapsed and broken we explore the holes and caves it created for life!

Sank in 1945 during World War 2 this ship was a part of the targets for the British Airforce on a bombing campaign of the Japanese Navy ships in the area at the time. 5 Unexploded bombs lay on the Ocean floor around the ship which includes the bomb which sank it approximately 20-25 metres from the wreck at around 28-30 metres below the surface.

With depths ranging from 27 to 18 metres this wreck provides intrigue and calls you back inside at the next opening where we can swim through what was the engine room and see the shaft which is still in tact.

Coming out we find the cabins at the rear of the ship providing even more opportunity for a great swim through.

Excited? Add this to the marine life you will see at the wreck which includes on occasion the odd bull shark or two if you are luck and wow what a trip you would have had. We recommend Nitrox for this dive so ensure you ask for this when booking your fun dives with us!
