Build your specialist diving skills
Improve weighting, trim and hovering so you can move through the water with better control.
Train with an instructor at suitable Pattaya dive sites. Your training plan depends on your existing qualification, experience and conditions.
What you will practise
- Weight checks and equipment streamlining
- Neutral buoyancy and precise hovering
- Controlled ascents and descents
- Reducing accidental contact with reefs
One day, two training dives
The current programme includes two dives, instructor guidance, scuba equipment, boat fees, transfers and certification on successful completion.
Buoyancy is a practical skill, not simply the right weight
Peak Performance Buoyancy training in Pattaya helps you understand how weighting, body position, breathing and movement work together. A diver can have enough weight to descend and still struggle to hold a comfortable position. Improving the whole system makes it easier to observe the reef, communicate with a buddy and concentrate on the dive plan.
The instructor observes how you move and gives feedback through focused exercises. You practise position and control in an environment chosen for learning. The value comes from noticing small changes and repeating a task, rather than making a large equipment adjustment without understanding its effect.
Better control also supports responsible reef diving. Maintaining space above the bottom and being aware of your fins can reduce accidental contact and disturbed sediment. Photographers may find that positioning becomes easier, but carrying a camera is not a substitute for learning the underlying skill.
Who should consider a PPB course?
This specialty can help newly certified divers consolidate skills, returning divers identify habits and more experienced divers work on a specific problem. Tell us what feels difficult: descending, hovering, staying level, moving without disturbing the bottom or maintaining position while looking at something interesting. That information gives your instructor a useful starting point.
Different equipment can feel different underwater. Let us know whether you are using your own kit or hire equipment, and allow time for fitting and preparation. A course is a chance to understand how your configuration behaves under supervision rather than chase a single setting that works for every diver.
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy price is THB 7,500. If your next goal is wreck, night or underwater photography diving, discuss whether buoyancy training would help you prepare. Comfortable foundational skills leave more attention available for a new environment.
