We are often asked what’s the difference between Copperband Scuba Academy and other Pattaya Dive Centres. This is a question we really find difficult to answer because unless you have tried diving with all Pattaya Dive Centres it is hard for us to explain to our customers. Of Course every Pattaya Dive Centre takes their customers Scuba Diving, we all do that but we all do it in so many different ways.
All we can do to help you decide which Pattaya Dive Centre to use! W can give you a number of questions which we would ask the other Dive Centres in Pattaya before making your final decision. We will also answer those questions on behalf of Copperband Scuba Academy!
Which Pattaya Dive Centre is best in your opinion?
If the dive centre says “oh of course we are!” and leaves it there, maybe they are not the right choice. No one is really “the best” however every Pattaya Dive Centre offers very different services and therefore the correct Question is “Why is your Pattaya Dive Centre better for me than the others?”.

Copperband Scuba Academy is a Pattaya Dive Centre established by instructors who have all worked with various other Dive Centres in Pattaya. We have taken the very best practices of those centres and built on them to provide a comfortable and professional dive experience for all of our customers.
We have designed our boat to exceed the standards of the other Pattaya Dive Centre Boats! Don’t take our word for it though you must try it to understand. We also offer a more comprehensive range of refreshements, breakfast pastries , snacks and lunch………… more than any other Pattaya Dive Centre does we promise that!
We use the best equipment for diving in Pattay. All of our customers have the opportunity to use Jet Fins, similar to RK3 fins and Booties as well as high quality PSI Wetsuits. You can also choose to dive with either a BCD or an X-Deep wing! We give you the options which other Pattaya Dive Centres don’t when it comes to our equipment range.
Certified Divers
If you are a certified diver we differ from other Pattaya Dive Centres in many ways! We take pride in the fact that we are the ONLY dive centre that offers 3 dive locations – Pattaya, Samaesan and Rayong. We also arrange regular liveaboards for our customers.
In addition to the above, we travel to the Far Islands of Pattaya on our luxury boat where we dive various islands and the Shipwrecks further away, including:

North Rock
South Rock
Ko Man Wichai
Ko Klung Badan
Unlike other Pattaya Dive Centres who travel there on special events, we do so at least once a week (weather permitting) during Monsoon Season and far more regularly if not daily during High Season.
This allows our certified divers to see the very best of Scuba Diving in Pattaya. In addition we also use luxury boats in Samaesan where only certified divers are allowed to dive on board. Meaning when diving with us in Samaesan you are surrounded by only certified divers. The Dive Sites are selected specifically for certified divers. Again on a regular basis we sail to the more distant islands such as:

Shark Fin Island
Of course we also dive the legendary Hardeep Shipwreck.
Between October and May, unlike all other Pattaya Dive Centres we offer trips to Rayong from our Dive Centre in Pattaya Central. Dive the amazing Alahambra Rock and be stunned by beautiful visibility and marine life.

For Beginners and those taking Courses
So you’re just beginning your Scuba Diving Adventure or are looking to improve your skills and certification level. The Question you may ask a Pattaya Dive Centre is “Why are you the best Pattaya Dive Centre to teach me?”
The most regular answers to this question we hear are “we have been here over 25 years! that’s why” or “We’re a 5 Star PADI Dive Centre in Pattaya!, that’s why”. Both are great answers but do not necessarily mean much as stand alone answers. Whilst a centre may have been there for 25 years the people within the dive centre changes regularly, the standard of instructors and the way they teach varies significantly. As for the 5 stars, this is just a rating provided by PADI regarding the services they do provide rather than who provides them and how.
Given this the questions you should ask are:
In your Pattaya Dive Centre WHO will be teaching me and can I meet them? It is important that you have a good relationship with the person who will make you breath underwater for the first time! Right? You also need to guage their teaching style because ofcourse this varies from person to person and no one style is the correct style. One persons way of teaching may not suit your way of learning for example.
If I use your Pattaya Dive Centre how many people will be on my Course with me? The higher the number the less attention the instructor can give to each individual Diver. Sometimes one on one is great, however often it is also fun to dive with others, however there is a balance.
Can I see your equipment and where and how it is stored? The will be the most telling of all questions, if a dive centre is not proud of the way they store their equipment and the standard and quality of their equipment and wish to hide it from their customers this is not a good start. Ask to see, feel and touch the equipment you will be using and ask them to explain it to you too. This will help you understand the type of service they provide to you.
Why is another Pattaya Dive Centre cheaper than you?
The standard answer will be, because they provide a bad service! If this is the answer you are given, go and explore and find that out for yourself. Often the reason there are variations in pricing is due to different business structures and facilities they have. Some pattaya dive centres have their own boat, others rent space on other Pattaya Dive Centres Boats.
Some Pattaya Dive Centres are busier than others, meaning they don’t need to reduce their fees to compete between dive centres. Some Dive Centres are a little more expensive because they provide a different type of service or additional perks to your trip, such as Towels, breakfast and lunch or other things that add to your experience.
Do not therefore be concerned only with the price of a course or trip! Ask what makes their trip more comfortable for you and establish what you are looking for from your Pattaya Dive Ccentre for your next Scuba Diving Trip!
