Pattaya’s Islands: Planning Reef and Wreck Days

Use Pattaya as a base for island diving while keeping your itinerary realistic about sites, conditions and experience.

Understand the areas we visit

Our regular diving explores the Pattaya Near and Far Islands. Koh Larn, Koh Sak and Koh Krok are among the areas associated with our trips. The exact route is selected for conditions and diver experience; a list of locations is not a fixed daily itinerary.

Separate sightseeing from training goals

If you want guided marine-life dives, choose a certified fun-dive day. If you want to develop navigation, buoyancy or other skills, compare the relevant course. Tell the team your priority so the proposed dive plan reflects what you want from the trip.

Allow enough time ashore and at sea

Boat diving normally takes a full day. Dragon House accommodation can be booked for independent dates, so your room nights do not need to match the number of diving days. Share your travel schedule when arranging a package.

Near Islands and Far Islands describe areas, not guarantees

Koh Larn, Koh Sak and Koh Krok are part of Pattaya’s nearby island-diving area. Far Island trips offer additional possibilities when the boat programme and conditions support them. An area name helps locate a trip, but the actual dive site and route need a more specific briefing.

Two dives around the same island can differ in layout, water movement and what is observed. Weather and conditions can change the usefulness of a planned route, and the participants’ experience also influences the choice. A responsible itinerary remains adaptable rather than protecting a destination promise at the expense of suitability.

Tell the team whether you value reef observation, wreck interest, photography or a comfortable return to diving. Those priorities are more useful for planning than requesting a list of every island in one day. A longer package may provide more opportunities, but still does not guarantee a particular site.

Build a holiday around the boat programme

A regular Pattaya dive day generally runs from morning collection or the Bali Hai meeting to a late-afternoon return. Allow time for preparation, travel between sites and surface intervals. A map’s apparent distance does not tell you exactly how long a particular day’s itinerary will take.

Choose your first date online and describe additional requested days in the notes for a multi-day package. The team arranges the full sequence with you; the form does not automatically allocate every day of a ten-dive holiday. If your travel dates are tight, explain that before planning the package.

Dragon House stays have separate check-in and check-out dates. You can add non-diving days around the boat programme or use another hotel if the apartment is unavailable. Keeping diving and accommodation independent helps you plan the experience you actually want.

A common question

Can I choose all the islands in one trip?

Discuss your priorities with the team. The actual programme depends on scheduling, conditions and suitability. A destination request is useful for planning but does not guarantee a fixed sequence.

Frequently asked questions

Was Pattaya originally a fishing village?

Yes. Pattaya developed from a small coastal fishing community into a major visitor destination during the second half of the twentieth century. Its fishing heritage remains part of the wider Pattaya and Naklua coastal area. Today, visitors can combine time ashore with boat trips to nearby islands. Read more about Pattaya’s background.

What can I do in Pattaya if I want an activity on the water?

Options with Copperband include an island snorkelling day, supervised Try Diving for first-timers, guided reef and wreck dives for certified divers, or a PADI course. Choose the activity that suits your experience and allow a full day for a regular boat trip. Compare trips and courses.

Can a family combine diving and snorkelling in Pattaya?

Tell us each guest’s age, swimming confidence and preferred activity before booking. A mixed group can ask about snorkelling and scuba options on the same departure, subject to availability and participation requirements. Each child’s suitability and any supervision arrangements must be confirmed with the team.
