A certification card tells us which training you completed, but not how comfortable you currently feel in the water. If you have had a break, send your last-dive date, approximate logged experience and the type of diving you did before. Mention any skill or equipment detail you would like to review.
The aim is to choose a sensible return to diving, with appropriate preparation and a trip that suits your present experience.
Discuss a refresher before the trip
PADI offers ReActivate as a way to refresh dive knowledge and skills. If you want a formal programme, ask Copperband to confirm the available arrangement, instructor, timing and price before booking. This guide does not establish that a particular refresher product is included in a standard fun-diving day.
You may need time before the boat trip for practical review. Do not leave that conversation until you arrive at the pier on the morning of an ambitious wreck itinerary.
Choose an appropriate first day back
Explain your priorities honestly. You may be keen to visit a wreck, but a guided reef day could be a more suitable first step, depending on the review and current conditions. The team will consider the actual route and the divers aboard.
If you want to develop buoyancy or other skills after returning, structured specialty training can be discussed separately. Fun dives and courses have different objectives and requirements.
