Good equipment care starts with the instructions for your exact model. Fresh-water rinsing and careful drying help, but different components require different handling.<\/p>\n

After each diving day<\/h2>\n

Rinse equipment using suitable fresh water and remove sand gently. Avoid harsh chemicals unless the manufacturer recommends them. Dry items in a ventilated area away from excessive heat and direct sunlight before storage.<\/p>\n

Regulators and BCDs<\/h2>\n

Protect the regulator\u2019s first-stage inlet according to the manual and do not press purge buttons during unpressurised rinsing unless the manufacturer instructs it. Follow the BCD\u2019s instructions for rinsing its bladder and operating valves. Do not disassemble life-support equipment without the appropriate training and authorisation.<\/p>\n

Dive computers and lights<\/h2>\n

Rinse salt from buttons and charging contacts as instructed. Check seals and battery compartments only using the specified procedure. Recharge or replace batteries in line with the manual, including storage recommendations.<\/p>\n

Masks, fins and garments<\/h2>\n

Protect mask lenses, do not force fins into a bent position and allow exposure garments to dry fully. Keep sharp accessories away from silicone skirts, hoses and neoprene.<\/p>\n

Before the next dive<\/h2>\n

Inspect for visible damage, check normal function and follow the manufacturer\u2019s maintenance schedule. A visual check does not replace servicing or the pre-dive checks taught in training. If equipment is damaged or behaves unexpectedly, stop using it and seek qualified assistance.<\/p>\n
